Up-Close and Personal with Wil
Saturday June 2nd, 2012 . 9:00 pm

Wil will always be the consummate touring musician, developing his expansive roots-rock sound while building a dedicated following for his famously intense live shows. One review quotes “Live, Wil is a force of nature. The man works a guitar so hard, it inches toward igniting during a set. Often times, it relents to the strain of such fierce play by popping off a string or two, as if to wave a white flag of surrender if only for a moment,..” His live show has earned him a nod for WCMA’s “entertainer of the year” but Wil is more than this; his star continues to rise as a celebrated songwriter and composer; his song “Roam” has become the flagship anthem for Travel Alberta’s wildly popular “Remember to Breathe” ad campaign. Most recently, Wil was commissioned to write the theme song “Ride” for this years’ 100th Anniversary of the Calgary Stampede.

Tickets only $15.   Available at the Coombs General Store and at The Shoe Inn in Qualicum Beach.

Joel’s voice and warm personality allow him to connect with his audience leaving an impression on their hearts. In a lot of ways, Joel’s songs are his daily journal, unique to his personality, well crafted, deep, and with honest lyrics - searching for answers.

LESSONS

Vocal Lessons and Coaching with Shelley Beeston

A little bit about Shelley...

I LOVE TO SING!!!
I've been singing ever since I can remember, and professionally since I was 12 yrs old. I've spent my life honing my skills as a singer -songwriter and performer. I started singing folk music, then performed musical theatre. I studied jazz and blues at VIU, and for the last 15 years, had a successful career as the lead singer for rock band Baby Jane .

I've had years of formal musical training, and spent many more years learning the subtleties of how to be a powerful, expressive, and dynamic singer. I performed regularly, week after week, learning how to strengthen and refine my voice.  After over 30 years of live performance and over 12 yrs of teaching experience, I know that I love what I do and I want to keep on passing it on!
